You MUST look at the container the glue/adhesive came out of.If the warning is that only mechanical means after adhesive has cured is stated then you blew it,only sanding past the finished surface including re-staining will do.If that&#039;s not the case than determine if it&#039;s oil based or water based,then follow the directions such as some oil based products will require a verathane remover ,no matter what there&#039;s alot of &quot;elbow grease&quot; required GET TO WORK.</description>

you can actually get glue remover, 
but i just use mineral spirits. doesn&#039;t seem  
to hurt the finish.</description>

Whole milk, believe it or not.  Not skim, or 1%, etc.  Just put a little in a sauce dish, and dab it on with a clean rag.</description>
