what is the best way to install a wooden medallion ?

kublair asked: I am trying to install a wood medallion on a wood floor. the medallion is in finished form and has a plywood base. i cannot remove any part of the medallion. it has to be installed in the wood floor (as is). is gluing it down the best option ?
