I’ve had hardwood in a previous house. I don’t care for the sound and feel of laminate, but I would probably get used to it. It’s cheaper and a lot easier to install. I can’t afford wood. So, stick with the linoleum or go for laminate?

no, u wont **** it. i have it and it is the one of the best things about the house.(b4 u get it- dark is better than the light kind)i had light b4 n it doesnt really go with anything. dark tends 2 work better with the rest of the house.
Go laminate, its cool! Easy to clean and maintain. I’ve got it in my livingroom and hallway and hope to do the rest of the house.
Also get the insulating polystyrene underlay as this keeps the heat in; another advantage in winter!
I did my entire home except for baths in it in a light wood and I love it.Affordable, easy to keep clean and easy to install,be sure to put a good quality foam underlayment under it.for great prices go to hgtv dream home uses this company
I think laminate is great in bedrooms…but I wouldn’t use it in hi-traffic areas or where it will get wet often. It does wear…and it is important for it to be installed properly with no gaps at the edges, or eventually you’ll have spaces. They will slide. The resale value of a house with laminate versus hardwood cannot compare.
It looks pretty good when its down, you should like it.
Laminate floor is easier to install . Low maintenance with Murphy soap. Get laminate flooring that has a long and wide groove on the lips connect. This is the new line of laminate . Dont buy discounted laminate with hard to connect joints, small lips. Use matching filler caulk to fill small gaps. Tap to connect . Dont beat it hard to connect.
Paul.
i recommend laminate …..its easy to clean and install…. plus when you transfer to a new house, you can reinstall it to you new place
It depends on the brand you choose. We installed Pergo in our old house, and it scratched/scuffed if I even blinked too hard at it! However, in our new house we have a Mannington floor and it’s fantastic. We chose a handscraped look, with beveled edges. It looks very realistic and it’s very scratch resistant. It’s very easy to keep clean. I love not having to vacuum anymore, too! We have it everywhere except the baths and utility room. If you are willing to invest the money in a good laminate, and not the 99cent per square foot kind, you will be pleased. Also, install the floor over a good pad like quietstep. It will give you a quiet step and a bouncy feel.
